Louisa's 35 miles for 35 Years of Pendleside Hospice
Pendleside’s head of income generation Louisa Mayor raised an incredible £2,380 for the hospice with her 35-day running challenge.
Louisa said "I wanted to raise money, not only for the organisation I work for, but the place I love. I see first-hand what an amazing difference Pendleside makes, so I just wanted to do my bit, and tying it into the hospice’s 35th birthday celebrations seemed like the perfect opportunity."
"I’m proud of myself for completing it and it’s with thanks to those around me who kept me going with ongoing support and donations.”

Joe Maden - One Legged Wainwrights
Joe is 42 and an amputee, following an accident at work at the age of 16 he had to have his right leg amputated below the knee. With help from the limb centre, physiotherapy and support from family by May 1998 Joe was back at work and continuing with his electrical apprenticeship.
With a love of the outdoors Joe has decided to walk all the Wainwright's - 214 hills, fells, and mountains in the lake district. Having already completed 9, Joe's wife suggested that I should be doing it for charity. So with the help of family and friends Joe will be doing the next 205 fells and mountains, including scafell Pike, England's highest mountain each weekend until all have been completed, hopefully by January 2025. Just one carbon fibre foot after the other.
Joe's motto - It's not the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog.
To support Joe and sponsor him, please visit his Just Giving page: www.justgiving.com/page/joe-maden-1695194338924

Nicola is running the amazing Great North Run to raise money for Pendleside Hospice. Nicola said ' I cannot praise all the staff at Pendleside enough who looked after my Dad and made him as comfortable as possible in his last days. They go above and beyond. Their care and compassion is second to none. The care and attention they also gave my Mum and our family whilst holding on to the last days was just amazing, catered for our every need. End of Life care is pretty grim watching a loved one slowly giving in to an envitable death is quite frankly unbearable, but if I can raise a little to ensure that someone else and thier family can be looked after with such dignity as was given by Pendleside, then it's what I will do. No pressure. It's a very difficult time with cash at the minute. But if you can spare £1, you know it's going to an awesome cause'.
