Pendle Pub Walk 2021

Join us for our 12th annual Pendle Pub Walk, kindly sponsored by Alderson and Horan Funeral Service, around the stunning Pendle countryside using its finest hostelries as way-points!

The walk, which is organised by Pendleside Hospice and Burnley Pendleside Rotary Club, raises money for Pendleside, with £5 of each registration fee going to other local charities who are supported by the Rotary Club. This year it is expected that over 2,000 walkers will take part in the 10-mile walk (approx), which is made up of a combination of countryside and road-walking. The walk is a circular route through some of Pendle’s most scenic countryside including Fence, Barley, Roughlee, Blacko, Higherford and Barrowford. Along the route there will be 19 official venues for you to purchase refreshments and live entertainment.

This year we have 19 official venues along the route! All walkers must ‘check-in’ at one of the x4 designated check-in points on the day between 10am – 1pm. With the addition of 2 new venues walkers will check-in at either the Sparrowhawk in Fence, Four Alls in Higham, Barley Village Hall (with your first stop being the Pendle Inn) or the Cross Gaits in Blacko. You can start your walk at any point along the route, but make sure to pass through a check-in point during the times stated. The event will officially end at 8pm. If you have already registered at one of the two original start points (Fence or Barley), but would now like to change please email [email protected]

Pre-registration is now closed! On the day registrations will increase to £50 for adults as it is assumed walkers will not be collecting sponsorship money, therefore will include a donation. Pre-registrations will close at 10am on Tuesday 14th September.

Rotary members are enthusiastic, fun-loving and active volunteers who give their time and talents to serve communities both at home and overseas – a worldwide network of inspired men & women who translate their passions into relevant social causes to change lives in communities. Find out more about the Rotary Club.

Once you have registered it is time to fundraise!

The registration fee covers the cost of the event and any additional sponsorship raised goes directly towards the vital care provided by the Hospice. We ask each individual to raise an additional minimum sponsorship of £30 to help us to continue supporting those in our local community! You will receive a sponsorship pack to help you with your fundraising.

A great way of raising donations is to set up a JustGiving page or a Facebook fundraising page.

One of the easiest ways to raise sponsorship is to start your own JustGiving page in aid of Pendleside Hospice and share the link with your friends and family so they can sponsor you to complete the walk and make donations to support your cause.

Just make sure that you include Pendle Pub Walk in the title so we can keep track of your fundraising page!
