There was an array of various football shirts being worn at Pendleside Hospice on Friday 21st April as staff, patients and volunteers got involved in Wear Your Shirt day. Wear Your Shirt Day is part of the partnership initiative between Pendleside Hospice and Burnley FC in the Community which sees us join forces for Community Day on Sunday 23rd April at the match between Burnley Football Club and Manchester United.
The two charities are encouraging supporters attending the match to bring a pound which will be collected prior to kick off by volunteers and all the money raised will be split equally between Burnley FC in the Community and Pendleside Hospice. There will also be various stalls and activities to keep the sell out crowd entertained before the 2.15pm kick-off.
Other local businesses and schools in the area have also got involved in Wear Your Shirt day and enjoyed a visit by BFC mascot, Bertie Bee to collect the money they raised.
Hospice Fundraising Manager, Kaye Bartle said
“We’ve had a lot of fun here at Pendleside taking part in Wear Your Shirt Day and it’s been great seeing the friendly rivalry between all the various teams represented. The money raised will help both us and Burnley FC in the Community provide vital services to our local area and we encourage anyone going to the match on Sunday to take a pound to donate.”
