Chess ICT who are based on Network 65 in Burnley held a ‘Dress Down Day’ and ‘Jacobs Join’ on 31st March 2017 and raised £486 in aid of Pendleside Hospice.
Patrick Watson who is the Sales Account Manager Public at Chess ICT said,
“Chess ICT are committed to social improvement; this is enshrined in their company Blueprint document. Part of this commitment is to provide charitable contributions to worthy organisations. With offices nationwide, selection of these beneficiaries is determined by the employees in each local site. So any organisation receiving donations are known to the staff which helps them understand the benefits, rewards and allows them to see first hand the difference their contribution is making.
Throughout the year Chess undertake various events, such as food sales, sponsored runs and other sponsored physical activities, to raise money for local organisations. As well as events Chess staff also reward each other with tokens which are allocated to one of three chosen charities and at the end of the year each chip allocated to the charity represents £1. The staff in the Chess Burnley office were asked to nominate their three local charities. Pendleside Hospice are well known to the Chess ICT Burnley office with many of the members of staff having immediate experience the vital work they do in the local community around Burnley and Pendle. Pendleside Hospice were nominated and chosen as one of the three organisations supported through the year by the Burnley office. Recently the Burnley office held a ’Jacobs Join’ lunch and ‘Dress Down Day’ with all proceeds going to Pendleside Hospice the total amount raised for the hospice was £486!”
