Pendleside Hospice is proud to announce a new season of community fundraising events across Burnley and Pendle, inviting local residents, families, schools, and businesses to come together in support of compassionate hospice care for local people.
As a charity at the heart of the community, Pendleside Hospice supports patients and families every single day, providing specialist palliative care to people living with life-limiting illnesses. Delivering this care costs over £6.5 million each year, and with less than 20% of funding provided by the NHS, the hospice relies heavily on the generosity, kindness, and involvement of local people and businesses.
A varied programme of events is designed to bring people together, celebrate life, and support vital hospice care.
This year’s fundraising calendar offers something for everyone, from lively social events and family-friendly activities to moving moments of reflection and remembrance.
Upcoming events include:
Iftar Celebration – Tuesday 3rd March 2026
Hosted in partnership with Nelson and Colne College, this event brings together pupils, staff, stakeholders, and the wider community to celebrate Ramadan, promote cultural understanding, and raise awareness of hospice services.

Taking place at Burnley Mechanics from 3pm to 8pm, this daytime dance event for over-30s features nostalgic club classics from the 80s, 90s and 00s, retro drinks, and a fun-filled atmosphere.

Pendle Pub Walk – Saturday 13th June 2026
One of Pendleside’s most popular annual events returns, inviting walkers to enjoy a scenic route linking local pubs. Early bird tickets (£22) are available until 1st March, after which adult entry rises to £27. Children’s tickets are £15, and pre-event registration closes on Wednesday 10th June at 10am.
Challenge Events – Throughout 2026
Supporters can also take on major events such as the London Marathon, Tough Mudder, and the Great North Run, fundraising on behalf of the hospice.
Reflecting on the importance of fundraising, Louisa Mayor, Head of Income Generation at Pendleside Hospice, said: “We work hard to offer a mix of events throughout the year to try and include all of our community.
“We have an amazing team of fundraisers whose creative flair and enthusiasm has enabled us to produce some incredible events that have become real talking points across our area, which is fantastic as it also throws the spotlight on the fantastic work our clinical teams do. This is only the first half of the year, and we can’t wait to share what we have planned for the second half, with the return of an old favourite we hope there is something for everyone.
Every ticket purchased, every donation made, and every event shared helps Pendleside Hospice continue delivering free compassionate, specialist care to local families at one of the most challenging times in their lives.
The hospice is encouraging the community to get involved and share new fundraising ideas
Pendleside Hospice is always looking for new and creative ways to raise funds and would love to hear from anyone with ideas, event suggestions, or fundraising proposals. The hospice also welcomes enquiries from anyone wanting to learn more about upcoming events in 2026.
While this announcement highlights events in the first half of 2026, Pendleside Hospice has an exciting programme planned for autumn and winter and looks forward to sharing more details soon.
Whether people choose to walk, dance, remember a loved one, take on a personal challenge, buy a raffle ticket, or simply spread the word, their involvement helps ensure hospice care remains available for every family that needs it.
