Fun for all the family at Pendleside Hospice Community Day

Community Day 2026

Pendleside Hospice is inviting people from across Burnley and Pendle to step inside, explore the Hospice and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon at its annual Community Day on Sunday 9th August, from 1pm to 4pm.

More than just a family fun day, Community Day is an opportunity for everyone to discover what Pendleside Hospice is all about. The event acts as an open day, welcoming the local community through its doors to meet the team, explore the Hospice and see first-hand the compassionate care and support provided to local patients and their loved ones.

Best of all, Community Day is completely free to attend, with plenty of free activities for children and families to enjoy throughout the afternoon.

There'll be plenty to enjoy, including free arts and crafts, face painting, live entertainment, market stalls hosted by VSMS Markets, a teddy tombola, and a selection of food and refreshments.

Whether you're visiting for the first time or have supported Pendleside for many years, Community Day offers the perfect opportunity to spend time with family and friends while experiencing the welcoming atmosphere that makes the Hospice such a special place.

Leah Hooper, Community Engagement Officer at Pendleside Hospice, said: "We can't wait to welcome everyone to our Community Day. There really is something for the whole family to enjoy, with lots of free activities for children, fantastic entertainmentand plenty to see and do throughout the afternoon."

"Community Day is one of the highlights of our events calendar because it gives us the opportunity to open our doors and welcome the community into Pendleside. We want people to come along, see what we're all about and know that everyone is welcome here. We'd love to see people from across Burnley and Pendle join us for what promises to be a fantastic afternoon."

Pendleside Hospice is encouraging local people to spread the word by sharing the event with family, friends and neighbours, helping even more people discover everything the Hospice has to offer.
