Pendleside Witch Festival

Pendleside Hospice is excited to announce a brand new event the Pendleside Witch Festival, which incorporates three fantastic elements- a festival, Witch Walk and Guinness World Record attempt!

You can choose to take part in as much or as little of the event as you wish… your registration fee covers everything, including your official witch outfit. To raise funds for Pendleside Hospice we kindly ask everyone to raise sponsorship to help us to continue supporting those in your community! You will receive a sponsorship pack to help you with your fundraising.

Guinness World Record attempt…Bring it back to Lancashire!

The main focus of the day will be our Guinness World Record attempt at 3pm. We want everyone to join in with this and help us achieve a new world record for ‘the most people dressed as witches’. Pendleside Hospice and Pendle Borough Council jointly achieved this Guinness World Record in 2012 on the 400th anniversary of the Witch Trials. In 2013 the record was beaten in Spain and we want it back.

Please note, for the Guinness World Record count you will be required to wear the official outfit provided by Pendleside. If you want to come in your own costume, that is fine, but please note that you will need to swap into the official outfit at the time of the count.

The Witch Walk…

Is a circular walk, starting at 11am from Barrowford Park to make the Witchfest more of a challenge. Witch walkers can choose to walk either 5 miles to Roughlee or 7 miles to Barley, both will start and finish in Barrowford Park. The route includes some countryside walking, so ensure that you wear good footwear such as walking boots and look out for surprises along the way. For those taking part in the walk, make sure you join the festival on your return and are included in the Guinness World Record count, but if walking’s not your thing then just head straight to the festival in time for the count.

The Festival…

Is a family focused festival running between 1-8pm, with live music, activities, refreshments and more for all ages to enjoy. If you don’t like fancy dress, that’s fine… wear what you want, but please remember that for the Guinness World Record attempt you will be required to wear your official outfit.

This is an exclusive event and access will only be permitted to those with a valid ticket for the Pendleside Witch Festival. Tickets cost £10 for children, £15 for adults and £35 for a family of 4.
