- Pendleside Patrons 2021

Our patron scheme is a collection of individuals, companies and groups who want to make a difference on their doorstep by helping to fund our vital care for local people.

Our Patrons' donations help the hospice:

  • Care for people in Burnley & Pendle with incurable and life-limiting illnesses
  • Maintain high-quality, individualised care that focusses on compassion, dignity and respect
  • Provide support for families, both throughout the illness and after a patient has died.

Why join the Patron Scheme?

Joining our patron scheme is a wonderful way to show your support to your local hospice. All our Patrons receive a number of benefits, but the real benefit is knowing you are helping to fund specialist care for patients and families when they need it most.

JM Glendinning joins growing group of elite patrons at Pendleside

An insurance broker is setting out its charity policy by becoming Pendleside Hospice’s third business patron.

Commercial lines broker JM Glendinning is one of the UK’s top 75 insurance brokers with six offices across the North West, Yorkshire, the North East and the Midlands.

The company, who bases its North West operation in Blackburn, has made a £1,000 donation and is in discussions with the hospice to help them raise more money during the coming 12 months

JM Glendinning joins other patrons – national logistics company Exertis UK, a diamond patron, who have a distribution centre at Hapton; and bed-giants Silentnight Group, a platinum patron, who are based at Earby.

Matthew Stuttard, managing director at JM Glendinning, who has family roots in the Burnley area, said: “We appreciate it’s been a difficult year for the charity sector in particular as it relies heavily on community fundraising activities.

“We can’t thank Pendleside enough for everything they do for the local community and how they have continued to provide such a high level of support for individuals and their families.”

Christina Cope, Pendleside’s head of corporate fundraising, said: “We would like to say a big thank-you to JM Glendinning.  Joining our scheme as a gold patron is wonderful way to show support for Pendleside.

“I would like to appeal to other businesses to take Glendinning’s lead and consider becoming a Patron of Pendleside.

“While joining the patron scheme offers several benefits the real benefit is knowing you are helping to fund specialist care for patients and families when they need it most.”

Other benefits include: a frame certificate to show support; invitations to special patrons’ events; acknowledgement of support in the hospice’s main reception; company name or logo and link to website on the hospice website; social media interactions acknowledging patronage; use of a Pendleside Patron logo for online and print; opportunity to use the Pendleside Patron logo on your company literature and website; and use of the hospice’s conference facilities for up to 20 people for one day including refreshments and lunch.

Simply Classic - Donation of £500 from Mother’s Day Boxes
& BRONZE PATRON support

Pendleside Hospice is delighted to have been donated £500 by local bistro Simply Classic. Simply Classic’s Chris Burt said “We have been really busy during the Covid 19 pandemic with our catering services and making boxes of delicious gourmet food which we sold as takeaways. These were very popular and we thought it would be a good way to support Pendleside if we asked our customers to donate £5 when they ordered one of our Gourmet Mother’s Day food  boxes”.  Chris added “We know the hospice needs funds so we made the decision to separately donate £500 to their Patron scheme too”

Christina Cope, Head of Corporate Fundraising at Pendleside, said “On behalf of Pendleside I would like to say a big thank you to Simply Classic and their customers for the £500 raised for us, Thanks also to the partners at Simply Classic for joining our patron scheme as Bronze members.  Simply Classic have supported us previously and continue to do so and we are very grateful for their donations again”
