Pendleside Hospiceis celebrating a major milestone with the opening of its 10th retail shop, located in the heart of Burnley at Charter Walk Shopping Centre.
The new shop will officially open its doors with a special launch celebration on the 6th June at 10am, and the hospice is inviting the local community to come together and support the exciting new venture.
Visitors attending the opening day can look forward to a fun-filled atmosphere, including: a spin the wheel game with the chance to win 20% off in store, a special appearance from Pendleside’s much-loved mascot Penny, and an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion.
The opening represents another important step in helping Pendleside Hospice continue to provide compassionate care and support to local patients and families across Burnley and Pendle.
David Austin, Retail Manager at Pendleside Hospice, said:“We’re incredibly excited to be opening our 10th shop right in the Centre of Burnley. Reaching this milestone is a huge achievement for us, and we can’t wait to welcome the community through the doors to see what we’ve been working on behind the scenes. We’re proud to be bringing a fresh new space to Charter Walk and look forward to meeting everyone at our opening day celebrations.”
Pendleside Hospice currently needs £6.8 million each year to continue delivering its services, with £5.4 million needing to be raised through fundraising initiatives, donations, events and the Hospice shops.
Retail income plays a vital role in helping fund patient care, supporting local people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as providing care and support for their families and loved ones. Last year alone, Pendleside Hospice’s retail income reached £950,984, contributing a surplus of £365,086 directly towards patient care and hospice services.
Every purchase made and donation givenhelps make a real difference to the patients and families who rely on the hospice’s services each day.
Pendleside is also encouraging the community to continue supporting its shops by donating good quality pre-loved items. Donations can be dropped off at any Hospice shop, as well as the on-site Donation Centre at Pendleside Hospice.
The new Burnley store will offer shoppers the chance to browse a wide range of quality pre-loved clothing, accessories, books and unique finds, while also supporting an important local cause.
As Pendleside’s 10th shop, the opening marks a significant achievement for the hospice’s retail team and highlights the continued support shown by the local community over many years.
Pendleside Hospice hopes the new shop will become a welcoming space in the town centre, encouraging people to shop sustainably while helping raise funds for patient care.
The opening day celebrations are set to bring plenty of excitement to Charter Walk, and everyone is encouraged to come along, meet the team, enjoy the activities and be part of this special moment for Pendleside Hospice.
By supporting the new shop, the community will be helping Pendleside continue providing specialist care, support, and compassion to local people when they need it most.
