The Virgin Money London Marathon is a truly inspiring event, with over 39,000 people taking part every year and hundreds of thousands entering the ballot! Running for Pendleside Hospice will help us support your family, friends and neighbours in Burnley and Pendle diagnosed with illnesses such as Cancer, Heart Disease and Dementia, their family and carers.
We have 5 Golden Bond places for the 2020 marathon available for which we ask people to fill in an application form and then make our selection in October, after the ballot results have been published.
We ask each of our runners to raise a minimum of £2,000 (not including Gift Aid) and offer lots of support to enable you to achieve your goal, so don’t worry!
All runners are given a fundraising pack containing sponsor forms, posters and a personalised running vest and we can also provide, if requested, raffle tickets, prizes, buckets, posters etc for any fundraising events you might wish to organise to raise the money. Runners in previous years have held quiz nights, curry nights, coffee mornings/bake sales and Race Nights to name just a few!
The application closing date is Monday 21st October and all applicants will be contacted within the week to find out if they have been successful or not in getting a place.
If you entered the Virgin Money London Marathon general ballot, which closed on 3rd May at 17:00, you will find out in October whether or not you have been successful. If you are successful in gaining your own place but would still like to support the Hospice by raising money for Pendleside we can provide you with fundraising support.
Contact Sammi in the Fundraising Team on 01282 440128 or firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more and/or to get an application form.
Thank you and good luck!
