Fundraising helps spread festive cheer at Safran Nacelles

Festive cheer came to Burnley aerospace company Safran Nacelles Ltd in December through a number of fundraising activities to help raise money for Pendleside Hospice.

Employees at the Bancroft Road site raised £782 for the Reedley based hospice as part of the hospice’s Christmas Corporate Raiseathon. The Corporate Christmas Raiseathon challenged businesses to raise funds for the hospice from 1st December 2020 to 5th January 2021.

Fundraising initiatives included donations from employees for their Christmas lunch, team donations for taking part in the hospice’s Christmas Zoom quiz, and a company donation of £500 on behalf of all employees.

Safran Nacelles employee Sandra McLaughlin also raised £120 towards the total by donating 10 per cent of the sale of decorated Terry’s Chocolate Oranges. Sandra created various designs ranging from Gonks, to cats, monkeys, reindeers, snowmen and footballs.

Kathryn Starr, Safran Nacelles Ltd HR Director, said: “Pendleside Hospice, like many charities, has suffered significantly because of the Covid-19 pandemic as a lot of their usual fundraising activities unfortunately have not been able to take place. As the hospice is our corporate charity, we wanted to get involved to help them raise much-needed funds during this difficult time in order to help them continue to provide their vital services. I’d like to thank all our employees for their fundraising efforts. Last year was difficult for many people and organisations, but our employees are always proud to support our local community.”
