KATHLEEN IS LUCKY CAR WINNER 
Local lady, Kathleen Astin was delighted to receive a phone call telling her that she was the lucky winner in the Pendleside Hospice Annual Car Raffle. Her prize is a Citroen C1 Splash. Kathleen’s lucky ticket was drawn in Charter Walk, Burnley by Clarets legend Jimmy McIlroy on Saturday 26th September. Kathleen, who lives in Brierfield with husband Ronald and grandson Luke said “I have never won anything before so this was a wonderful surprise. I buy tickets every year but never expected to win.” The car has been supplied by local dealers Walker Farrimond and bought thanks to the generosity of local companies, Alderson and Horan Funeral Services, SFN Solicitors, John Macadam Garages, Burnley and Pendle Freemasons and Charter Walk Shopping Centre. Their support means that every pound raised from ticket sales goes directly towards patient care. This year’s Car Raffle has raised the magnificent amount of £27,477 – money that will help the hospice provide care to local people suffering from cancer and other life limiting illnesses.
