Foreign Currency, Medals and Collectables Carry On Collecting Money for Pendleside
Steve Harvey, Post Master at Rosehill Post Office, Manchester Road, Burnley is doing a STERLING (sorry!) job of converting donated foreign notes, coins, stamps and other items into hospice funds via the internet site ebay.
He has donated the amazing amount of £22,000 from book sales alone to Pendleside.
All currencies are acceptable - even the now obsolete ones from countries who converted to the Euro. Steve is especially on the look out for Irish, Italian and out of circulation British notes. Other items he can sell to raise funds for the Hospice are: medals, collections of stamps, jewellery, Pendelfin Rabbits, Beatrix Potter and Beswick ceramic animals, Observer books, Lyles antique, stamp or coin books, Fire Brigade Cap Badges & Buttons and Robinson’s Jolly badges.
Christina Cope, Fundraiser at the Hospice said: ‘We have been asking people to donate foreign currency especially since the introduction of the Euro and we would like to remind people that any coins or notes will still hold some value and when totalled together can raise important funds for Pendleside. Steve volunteers a lot of his free time to help the hospice raise the most value from the donated foreign coins, notes and other collectables and we are very grateful to him’.
If you have any coins, notes or collectables please either take them to Steve Harvey at Rosehill Post Office or drop them off at one of our seven hospice shops or Pendleside Reception. Rosehill Post Office Tel: 01282 422106 Alternatively please give Fundrasing a call on Tel: 01282 440120 or e-mail fundraising@pendleside.org.uk
