Bereavement Support Group
Some illnesses progress despite positive attitudes and advances in treatments. The death of someone close to us can be a devastating experience and a time when we need the support and understanding of family and friends. Sometimes, however, it helps to be able to talk to someone outside that close network, and who is not also grieving. We recognise that during the preceding weeks before a bereavement carers have invested a lot of physical and emotional energy in to caring for their loved ones. Our complementary therapist at Pendleside offers reflexology or aromatherapy massage to the recently bereaved thus offering them the opportunity to take some time for themselves. This service is available in the person‘s home or at the hospice. Ongoing support is offered at group meetings where people can talk to others who have been bereaved as well as to hospice staff. Meetings are usually held on a monthly basis on weekday evenings.
Bereavement Support is available in the person’s home or at Pendleside.
Bereavement Support is also offered to children on an individual basis or as part of the family structure.
